AECT Standard 1 - Content Knowledge
Candidates demonstrate the knowledge necessary to create, use, assess, and manage theoretical and practical applications of educational technologies and processes. |
Course Objective(s): |
- Develop a list of variables that go into selecting an instructional delivery system for a course you are asked to design, and explain major factors that go into that decision.
- Demonstrate conceptual understanding of what a collaborative work space might look like and how to reformulate the museum experience into the school setting.
|
Indicator 1.1 - Creating
Candidates demonstrate the ability to create instructional materials and learning environments using a variety of systems approaches. |
Assignment(s): |
Reflection on ID Systems
Develop a list of variables that go into selecting an instructional delivery system for a course you are asked to design, and explain major factors that go into that decision. |
Indicator 1.4 - Managing
Candidates demonstrate the ability to effectively manage people, processes, physical infrastructures, and financial resources to achieve predetermined goals. |
Assignment(s): |
Reflection on Establishing an Informal Learning Experience.
Demonstrate conceptual understanding of what a collaborative work space might look like and how to reformulate the museum experience into the school setting. |
AECT Standard 2 - Content Pedagogy
Candidates develop as reflective practitioners able to demonstrate effective implementation of educational technologies and processes based on contemporary content and pedagogy. |
Course objective(s): |
- Review and evaluate three informal learning practices for STEM education to determine how these programs are influencing instructional needs in schools.
- Demonstrate conceptual understanding of what a collaborative work space might look like and how to reformulate the museum experience into the school setting.
- Create a parallel/correlated measuring tool to help evaluate learning activities in an informal setting.
- Understand the differences between assessment and evaluation and when to apply either or both to your instructional design. Create an appropriate assessment or evaluation component.
|
Indicator 2.1 - Creating
Candidates apply content pedagogy to create appropriate applications of processes and technologies to improve learning and performance outcomes. |
Assignment(s): |
Position Paper - Assessment and evaluation of informal learning
Create a parallel/correlated measuring tool to help evaluate learning activities in an informal setting. Understand the differences between assessment and evaluation and when to apply either or both to your instructional design. |
Indicator 2.2 - Using
Candidates implement appropriate educational technologies and processes based on appropriate pedagogy. |
Assignment(s): |
Team Activity 3 - Pick two learning theories
Review and evaluate three informal learning practices for STEM education and correlate them to two learning theories to determine how these programs are influencing instructional needs in schools. |
Indicator 2.4 - Managing
Candidates manage appropriate technological processes and resources to provide supportive learning communities, create flexible and diverse learning environments, and develop and demonstrate appropriate content pedagogy. |
Assignment(s): |
Design Challenge Activity 2
Evaluate exemplar programs. Demonstrate conceptual understanding of what a collaborative work space might look like and how to reformulate the museum experience into the school setting. |
AECT Standard 3 - Learning Environments
Candidates facilitate learning by creating, using, evaluating, and managing effective learning environments. |
Course objective(s): |
- Demonstrate conceptual understanding of what a collaborative work space might look like and how to reformulate the museum experience into the school setting.
- Understand the differences between assessment and evaluation and when to apply either or both to your instructional design. Create an appropriate assessment or evaluation component.
- Formulate ideas on how to create and implement learning experiences for STEM.
|
